  18.  Yes it is. At least the 68040 was much faster than the 486 in FP calculations.
  19.  (I'm talking about a per MHZ comparison). Dunno about the '060, however I
  20.  think that it will probably be faster than a comparable Pentium. The problem
  21.  is that the 68060 is available @50MHz or @66MHz while the Pentium is
  22.  heading to 200MHz :(
  23.  Things will change with PPC introduction though...
